SoFA Mini Show Details for Buyers and Artists Submitting Work:
Buyers:
Works may only be purchased on the last day of the show: Nov. 30 from 5-10pm
Purchases are made on a first come first serve basis (coming early gives you more art to buy)!! Auctions may be available for larger works/guest art pieces; at the end of the night the highest bidder will buy the piece at the highest bid.
Artists:
- any UW Fine Arts student or anyone affiliated with UW Fine Arts in any way can submit pieces to the mini show. (any UW students, professors, alumni, even local artists as well)
- all submissions must be a maximum of 1 foot by 1 foot (12 by 12 inches). Shapes and sizes may vary, but keep them under a foot in height or width. (for example: 6in x 12in = fine. 20in by 12in = over the limit. Submit minis!!)
- if you have works that are larger than the limit, speak to a SoFA member in person or by email about selling the piece as an auction. There are only a few Auction spaces available, so do not count on being able to sell large pieces; this is after all, a mini show.
- you can submit any number of pieces: just one, or 20! The more the better!!
- the artist prices their own pieces; anywehre from $5 to $100! SoFA will be taking 50% of your set price for Artery support.
- works can be in any medium but works must be ready to hang with nails or with clips. sculptors, painters, drawers, photographers, printmakers, everyone, anyone, please submit your work!!
- submission deadline: Friday, November 23rd, 2007
- submit your piece to any member of SoFA, or any 4th year studio student, or Lesley Hartley with your full name and your work’s price. Starting November 5th, you may also submit your pieces directly to the Artery Gallery.
Benefits in submitting your work: Your art will be displayed in a public gallery; good exposure and good buildup for your resume. You’ll make money!!
